BRIAN BEDELL ELECTED PRESIDENT OF NYSSCA
December 14, 2005 - The election for the 2006 NYSSCA Officers and Board of Directors was held at Snyder's Restaurant on Tuesday, December 13, 2005.

President John Keegan declined nomination to return as President after four successful years at the helm of the organization. Taking over the top spot will be Brian Bedell. Many know Brian as the proprietor of Boomer's Performance at Lebanon Valley Speedway or as an integral part of Kenny Tremont's race team. Boomer's Performance is a long-standing supporter of NYSSCA and has sponsored the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony for many years in memory of Brian's brother, Robert "Boomer" Bedell.

Other officers elected Tuesday were Kelley Keefe as Vice President, JoAnn Flanigan as Treasurer, Bonnie Mortensen as Secretary and Warren Daniels as Sergeant at Arms. Each will serve a one year term.

Board of Director Members elected Tuesday were John Keegan, Arty McCarty, Tom Remington, Nick Ronca and Rob Yetman. Keegan and Yetman will serve two year terms while the others will serve one year. Bob James and Dan Martin, elected last year to a two year term will remain through 2006.

The New York State Stock Car Association meets at 7:00 pm on the 2nd Tuesday of each month and is currently meeting at Snyder's Restaurant on Route 9 in Clifton Park, NY.

The annual NYSSCA Awards Banquet and Hall of Fame Induction will take place on January 21, 2006 at the Polish Community Center on Washington Avenue Extension in Albany. For more information on the banquet or about NYSSCA, please visit their web site at www.nyssca.com.

The Mission of NYSSCA is promote the sport of auto racing in the Northeast. While racers anywhere can join the Association, member tracks are Afton Speedway, Albany Saratoga Speedway, Devil's Bowl Speedway, Fonda Speedway, Glen Ridge Motorsports Park, Lebanon Valley Speedway and Utica Rome Speedway. Members are eligible for the Injured Member Benefit Fund, which helps to supplement their income while they are unable to work as a result of a racing incident at a sanctioned race track.
