2006 NYSSCA GOLF TOURNAMENT A HUGE SUCCESS

June 1, 2006 - The 4th Annual NYSSCA Golf Tournament was met with cool temperatures, but no rain, unlike most of the twelve days that followed. The Fairways of Halfmoon were in top notch condition, as is apparent by the scores posted by the 20 teams that played. Topping the leader board was the Madsen Motorsports team. They finished 10 under par. In second place, at 8 under par was the Camara Racing Team. The Fox Fast Track team came in third at 7 under par tied with the Bishop Print Shop team, who was listed 4th. Rounding out the top 5 was Jason Harrington’s team at 5 under. The golf tournament, held on May 11 was a fundraiser for the New York State Stock Car Association. The Mission of NYSSCA is to promote the sport of auto racing in the Northeast. While racers anywhere can join the Association, member tracks are Accord Speedway, Afton Speedway, Albany Saratoga Speedway, Devil's Bowl Speedway, Fonda Speedway, Glen Ridge Motorsports Park, Lebanon Valley Speedway and Utica Rome Speedway. Members are eligible for the Injured Member Benefit Fund, which helps to supplement their income while they are unable to work as a result of a racing incident at a sanctioned racetrack. NYSSCA maintains a Hall of Fame listing over 100 greats in the local racing world. The Hall of Fame is housed at the Saratoga Auto Museum in the Saratoga Spa State Park.
